God doesn't have a recall department...

Today I was checking my yahoo account and came across a news article about Sony warning its customers, "do not use your PS3". A PS3 is a gaming system Sony came out with a while back to compete with Microsoft's XBOX and Nintendo's Wii. Now they are saying the new gaming system is not allowing its users to access the online feature of the system. This may not be a big deal to you, but it is a big deal to millions of parents who bought the system for their child. Another headline I'm sure everyone knows about is the Toyota recall on many of their 2009-2010 model vehicles. As I was reading and listening about these two major companies mistakes. I could not help but think about the credibility they lost because of their blunders. I hope the best for these companies as they fight to gain their integrity back from their customers. I'm sure the road of healing and trust will return, but not without hard work and unfortunately negative consequences.
Are these headlines a perfect picture of what us humans are good at or what? We let people down. We mess up. We make promises we can't keep. We make guarantees that are useless. I am so glad the God of the universe isn't like us. God doesn't have a recall department. He has never made a mistake. He has never dropped the ball. He has never let a plan leave His mind that wasn't exactly perfect. God makes promises that are never broken. God makes guarantees that can be trusted. God keeps His promises to us even though we don't keep our promises to Him. He really is good! It was God's perfection in His son that made Christ the perfect sacrifice for us. I hope we find peace and rest in God's perfection. Somedays I wake up and don't feel too good about myself. Whether because of sin or our inadequacies, we all go through those moments of insecurity and worthlessness. In those times we should throw our imperfections on our awesome God's perfection and allow Him to clean us and make us new again.
